Bathroom drawings with dimensions. Do-it-yourself bathroom furniture - we can easily make a cabinet and shelves. Negative sides of combination

I really liked the furniture natural wood(or veneered slabs) that I have seen in some hotels. In particular, I really like the use of thick panels (40 mm or more), which greatly adds solidity to the furniture. It's decided - we make it from thick panels!

My perfectionist tendencies made the task more difficult by requiring me to new furniture in the same color and texture as pre-made installed door. The door I have is Papa Carlo - these are really good doors. I had to build an ingenious combination so that the production would give me all the information about the used veneer - I found out with some difficulty that it was "Alpi Walnut Italian tangential two-flare 2N 270 / FN 2 A30".

So, the task is set: a cabinet in the bathroom, a hanger in the hallway, all in thick panels, in the same veneer as the door.

Material selection

Water and humidity, to put it mildly, are not best friend for furniture, so the choice of material in this case is of paramount importance. Chipboard was rejected as a class, although there is moisture resistant chipboard (but it is mainly presented only in white). MDF - wherever it went, basically, manufacturers of bathroom furniture use this particular construction material. But if you wet the MDF well, it will also swell. Once I already had a plentiful waterfall in the bathroom and hallway, although until that moment I thought that I was extremely reliably insured against the flood by the lack of neighbors from above. If this happens again, the desire to do the same thing again is unlikely to happen again. Therefore, MDF is also not an option, we cut it off like eggs from a food tax.

At first I wanted to make everything from solid teak, because teak is practically unaffected by water and, all the time, is used in the decoration of yachts and steamships. But, unfortunately, in Ukraine I did not find a supplier capable of cutting teak to the required sizes for me, and I do not have a carpentry shop. An array of other types of wood in wet conditions is unacceptable.

But plywood, and in particular its most common type - Ship Plywood (FC) - this is what the doctor ordered, it is not for nothing that it is called ship plywood. Plywood is produced in a variety of thicknesses - from small to large, and this is also a plus - you do not have to glue two thin panels to get the thickness, as is usually done with chipboard and MDF.

Measurement

I wrote everything in, but I repeat. This is an important step. There are no absolutely even walls, there are no perfectly right angles. The enemy must be known by sight. In the case of creating furniture close to the walls (not freestanding), you need to understand how smooth the walls are and how straight the corners are. In this case, I got lucky. The maximum deviation that I received was 2 mm. at 2 meters and this can not even be taken into account when ...

Design

Cabinet furniture - it's easy! A set of rectangular panels that must be connected in a certain way. There is nothing complicated in this and with a good tool there will be no special problems. And of course, the necessary school knowledge of geometry and trigonometry - sine-cosine there, tangent-cotangent.

In this case, I used SketchUp for design:

accessories

Bloom. Excellent fittings Blum. Having started with it, I have no desire to look at anything else. In particular, because they give the craftsman first-class documentation and design capabilities. You haven't ordered anything yet, but you already know where any hole needed to attach the fittings will be. And for the really stubborn, you can even transfer everything you design in Blum Dynaplan directly into the SketchUp 3D model.

I ended up buying two tandemboxes and a metabox for the inner drawer. It cost $100.

action

So, the result of our design research should be a file that lists every single detail. Roughly like this:

Now we need to find a company that will take some money from you, look at the detail file and in return give all your panels - in the right sizes, cut and edged. They will cut your firewood from plates of certain sizes. If they have this material in their warehouse program, you can get as many square meters as you need without hesitation. Otherwise, you will be forced to buy and pay for the slabs, and not for the number of square meters you need.

When designing furniture in order to achieve a good economic effect, you should approach at least 80% filling of sheets of board material. I will demonstrate using the example of cutting maps that I made myself in the Cutting program (they were later used for cutting):

I quickly compensated for the inefficient filling of sheets of material. Thus, an initially unplanned ottoman was born. And the sheet filling efficiency was more than 90%.

Plywood, veneer, cutting and edging were done for me by TransLock. All this cost $500. I had to go to the factory because I wanted to do some unusual things: I needed clean cuts for a washbasin and miter saws on several pieces of a hanger.

The shop workers forbade me to shoot anything, but I'm stubborn. In general, the video will say everything better than words:

So, all the firewood fit perfectly in the car, delivered and raised to the apartment (excellent fizuha, I must say).

Painting

Uh ... I was completely unprepared to find out that veneered (in general, it seems to be correct to say "veneered", but "veneered plywood" sounds stupid) products are still a semi-finished product. And they, it turns out, have yet to be processed.

Now it's interesting to see what the raw product looks like. Sample on the ground:

I was in shock all day. All these firewood together weigh 150 kg. I have already loaded them, brought them home, unloaded them, lifted them to the floor. That is, to take them to the paint shop, you need to: load, unload, load, unload. And the wood does not get any better. They must be constantly repackaged, otherwise the Khan of all beauty. The cost of paintwork, as it turned out, is not at all cheap. The best deal I found was $50 per square meter. That is, firewood costs $500, and its processing costs $600. At home, it is very, very difficult to perform high-quality painting and varnishing, although I know that, in principle, this is possible. But we are not looking for easy ways!

Furniture, even in the format we are used to, has existed for a very long time - centuries! Polyurethane varnishes obviously did not exist in those days. What covered the furniture of those times? Wax! On some forum I found information about the OSMO brand. Googled and realized that this is what you need - a warm lamp mixture of oils and waxes, easy to apply at home. There was a risk that I would not get into the color of the door, but ... everything went more than successfully!

Trial color. On the left is a raw part, in the center is processed, on the right is a trim from the door to which we are striving.

The sequence of actions is as follows: sand with coarse grain, sand with fine grain, paint, wait, sand with fine grain, paint, wait, polish. I experienced all this on my own skin and, I must tell you, the cost of painting work is quite justified - this is a terrible hemorrhoids. Actually, everything we need for the painting process. And patience, a lot of patience.

This is how the color of the panels suddenly changes when painting. Fantasy:

The painting process took away from me week!

Offtopic: grout

The wife has long complained about the inability to properly wash the seams in the bathroom. The masters rubbed so deeply that ditches 3-4 mm deep were formed between the tiles. Therefore, the intermediate task is to grind all the seams in the bathroom!

At first I unsuccessfully tried to clean the seams with a needle file. Then I tried to do it with a Dremel - I burned the nozzle and cleaned out 30 cm. I had to buy a Bosch MultiMaster universal vibrator and a nozzle for cleaning the grout. The tool justified itself - I used it both for sawing and for grinding and polishing.

Valuable advice: never use cement grout! Use epoxy grout and your bathroom will still shine in 10 years. I once squeezed an extra $ 150 and now I regret it.

Assembly

Well, let's go collect! But first, to the store:

Confirmat is a useful, fast and convenient thing. For furniture makers. For you, confirmation is a bunch of unaesthetic plugs on furniture surfaces. When creating decent furniture, confirmation is not used. Or dowels, or special euro ties. On dowels - non-separable, on screeds - collapsible. Therefore, as before, I used the Wolfcraft Dowelmaster dowel jig, the principle of which can be seen.

Begin:

My favorite screwdriver. He is very comfortable.

Here is the first mistake. Never fix the dowels with glue in the middle of the process. Do this when all the reciprocal holes are ready.

We drill answers. Use the drilling depth gauge.

And here is a way to end "copy" the location of dowels from one panel to another.

We fasten the guides to the right stand. The second mistake - never make standing teams!

40mm panels are heavy. wooden surface soft. Care is required.

First sample.

Blum boxes are very easy to assemble.

We fix the support brackets to the wall. Once I discovered Fisher fasteners (dowels). Since then, I have not changed it. The pleasure is expensive, but worth it.

I printed a template for a washbasin. Toilet and washbasin - brand Laufen series Mimo. All products of this brand are well documented and presented on the site. The first sign of a quality product is the first-class documentation available. Europe knows a lot about this. Grohe, Blum, Laufen - nice to work with.

Vzhik and ready. Only for a jigsaw you need good files. Most of this sloppy drink is hidden under the washbasin. The part that is visible to the eye - finishing cuts are made in production circular saw. Do not try to make clean saws with a jigsaw - it will not work.

Turn on the faucet and washing machine. To prevent water from getting under the washbasin, I bought a TESA window seal and glued it around the perimeter of the washbasin from below. Whether the furniture master will do it for you - I doubt it, he will rather score.

Another discovery of the year. Taps for marking reciprocal holes. Handy thing, speeds up the process.

The panels are heavy and must be fixed securely. 6 attachment points.

Level and plumb lines are our true friends.

My personal tragedy On an army of 180 screw-hooks, he spent a whole day.

I would not be me if I made a through fastening of the panels to the wall. But we are not looking for easy ways - dowels into the wall and onto glue. There are no visible outlets!

As you can see, there is nothing complicated in the manufacture of cabinet furniture.
And it's quite a fun activity.

Today's post is about how to assemble bathroom furniture with your own hands. The article was prepared according to the material home master Dmitry Podpalchenko.

DIY bathroom furniture

If desired, you can make a functional and beautiful furniture for the bathroom with your own hands, thereby creating a truly original interior in this important room for the life of every person.

Nowadays, offered by stores, it is able to satisfy almost any request. But even with such a variety of items for arranging a sanitary facility, it is not always possible to choose the best option for furnishing it. This is especially true for small spaces. In such situations, home craftsmen make bathroom furniture with their own hands. Such a process, with the right approach to it, will save the family budget and create a chic interior in the bathroom.

Vanity cabinet

First you need to decide what kind of furniture you want to see in your bathroom. Usually in the premises for the adoption of water procedures, they install:

 • Cabinet under the washbasin. This piece of furniture is very practical. It is easy to cut a sink into a homemade cabinet, and use the inside of the cabinet to store cosmetics and detergents. In addition, such furniture in the bathroom makes it possible to rationally use the area of the room and hide unattractive types of siphons and water pipes.
 • Shelves or cabinets hanging type. Similar structures are installed on the walls (in their upper part) using reliable brackets. Externally hanging cabinets look small. However, they are very roomy. It is difficult to think of a more reasonable use of empty walls in the bathroom.
 • Wardrobe for storing linen. This design is placed in cases where there is an empty corner on the floor in the bathroom, which is not used in any way. It is advisable to do with two compartments - a large one (it will be possible to store laundry in it that needs washing) and a small one (for soap, shampoo, cosmetics).

There should also be a mirror in the bathroom. Unfortunately, in many sanitary facilities there is simply no place for him. The way out of this situation is simple - to make mirrored doors on the hanging cabinets. They will look great and you won't have to think about how to fit a mirror into your skimpy square meters your bathroom.

Next, you need to choose the materials from which you will make items for the bathroom. The operational features of this room require that the furniture for it have good moisture-resistant qualities. The following materials meet these criteria:

 1. Waterproof wood fiber (MDF) and chipboard (chipboard) boards. The first products have a lot of color solutions - you can choose the best shade for furniture. Chipboard manufacturers color more modestly. But on the other hand, this material is processed without problems with their own hands. In addition, chipboard in terms of water resistance looks more preferable than MDF. Here you can cheat - to make a facade of furniture from wood-fiber products, and its body from wood-shaving products.
 2. Plastic. The most rational and economical option. This material is very light, characterized by a huge variety of colors, absolutely not afraid of moisture, but it is fragile. Therefore, it is impossible to make a washbasin cabinet out of it. It is unlikely to withstand the weight of the shell.
 3. Stone and glass. Now these materials are in great demand, especially among fans of unusual interiors. The stone is good for making countertops and shelves. But, we note right away that it is very difficult to work with this solid material at home. Shelves for cabinets and furniture facades are most often made of glass.

MDF furniture

Some home craftsmen are eager to make furniture from aluminum or of stainless steel. These metals look beautiful and are moisture resistant. But experts do not advise using them. Firstly, such materials will make the bathroom room “cold”. Secondly, they are difficult to handle on their own.

If you dream of an elite homemade furniture, try to make it from natural wood. But remember that the tree does not tolerate high humidity (it can change its color and sometimes shape). It is impossible to call such material practical. Yes, and the cost is quite high. Pros recommend making furniture for sanitary facilities (if you really want to use this particular material) exclusively from solid teak.

When you decide on the type of furniture and the material for its manufacture, start measuring the sanitary unit. Measure the height of the room, its length and width. Based on these data, it will be possible to make drawings of home-made furniture. Arm yourself with a ruler and a pencil, draw the items you need, figure out how beautiful they will look in the bathroom. It is even easier to find a specialized site on the Internet, where there are special programs that facilitate the process of designing home-made furniture. After that, detailing of future structures should be done. Calculate and write down the number of all the elements that you will need.

Sink top

Buy spare parts. There is always the possibility of damage to any element when processing it with your own hands. After scrupulous calculations and rechecks, go to hardware store. Immediately purchase fixtures and fittings for furniture. Don't buy plastic fittings(door canopies, legs for pedestals, various handles). Such products will quickly lose their appearance, and after a while they will completely break. It is better to buy fittings made of chrome-plated metal alloys or stainless steel. Mounts also need to be selected wisely.

Dowels are affordable. They can be used in cases where you plan to install furniture once and for all. Dowels allow you to make exclusively non-separable items.

But the euro ties that are popular in our time make it possible to assemble furniture, which, if necessary, can be disassembled without the slightest problem. Also, for the manufacture of furniture items, it is allowed to use confirmation. But let's say right away - this type of fastener does not look the best. The next step is to cut the purchased materials to the desired size. If you are confident in your abilities, perform this operation yourself. In other cases, contact the workshops for help. Masters will cut any materials without marriage, quickly and with a minimum amount of waste. After preparing all the details, you can begin to assemble the furniture.

It is not difficult to make an outwardly attractive and practical washbasin stand, equipping it with additional functional glass shelves, from affordable chipboards. You will need 15–20 mm thick chipboard, self-tapping screws, furniture corners, sandpaper, adhesive tape (required double-sided), fittings, putty and primer compositions. Also buy 7-9mm glass.

Making a cabinet for a sink

The assembly process of the structure we are interested in looks like this:

 1. Take measurements of the cabinet and determine the geometric parameters of the sink.
 2. On the chipboard sheet, mark the recesses for the pipes and the place where the siphon will be located.
 3. Cut the wood chip product so as to get the bottom and two walls of the future structure. Fasten these elements with wood screws. The heads of the hardware must be drowned in chipboard. Be careful - the sheet may be damaged. Don't forget to drill holes in the frame. They will be needed for the installation of shelves.
 4. Cut out the doors, but do not attach them to the cabinet frame yet.
 5. Put the fruit of your labors in its proper place in the bathroom. Align the bedside table and attach it to the wall surface using 2-4 metal corners. Fasteners must be installed at the top of the bedside table or directly under the tabletop and fixed with metal screws.
 6. Putty chipboard (pay extra attention to the places where the hardware is). Ideally, you should get a perfectly smooth surface. Problem areas can be treated sandpaper. If desired, you can draw some unusual decorative image on a fresh putty layer.

When the putty dries, the cabinet should be painted or varnished. Apply the coloring composition with a spray gun or a paint brush. Puttied places are recommended to be treated with a primer before painting. After the paint has dried, you just have to carefully hang the doors and install the glass shelves. Glasses need to be cut in advance (it is better to do this in the workshop). However, you can prepare our future shelves on your own using a glass cutter. Be sure to grind the edges of the glassware with a fine-grained grinding wheel, giving them a rounded shape.

Now install the prepared shelves in the cabinet. The topmost glass will act as a countertop. It can be secured with double sided tape. Install the rest of the shelves on special fasteners. That's all! You have made your own vanity unit. Enjoy the results of your work.

Furniture in the bathroom plays a major role - it adds functionality to the space and emphasizes the style of the interior. In stores, you can get confused, choosing the kit you need for the room - there are hanging cabinets, original cabinets, and glass shelves. But it may happen that in this abundance you will not find the best furniture option, for example, because the area of your bathroom is small. In this case, the way out of the situation will be the manufacture of furniture with your own hands. This process is simple, and it will save your budget.

Choosing a material

Let's start with the main thing - with the choice of material for future furniture. Everything here is simple and complex at the same time. Since the bathroom requires an individual approach, you need to choose a moisture-resistant material:

 • plastic is the most economical option that will decorate the bathroom. This material is distinguished by a wide range of colors and lightness. True, plastic is a fragile thing and can break from one careless movement. In addition, it cannot be heavily loaded and plastic is not suitable as a cabinet for a sink, since it simply cannot withstand the heavy weight of plumbing;
 • stainless steel, steel and aluminum alloy - it is better to immediately refuse these materials. Why? Because it will be extremely difficult to process them with your own hands, and metal furniture will look like the Snow Queen - cold;
 • wood is not the cheapest option, and not the most practical for the bathroom. The fact is that a wooden array under the influence of moisture can change its shape and color. If you already choose such a material, then pay attention to the massif of teak - it is this kind of wood that is used to decorate ships;
 • waterproof chipboard and MDF - the best option for bathroom furniture. You can easily process chipboard with your own hands, however, you will have to look for the right color or stop at the classic white version. MDF - the material is more diverse in terms of colors, but it does not tolerate water ingress. The best option is to combine chipboard and MDF. From the first to make a furniture body, and from MDF - a facade.

There is another material - stone, which looks noble in any bathroom, but it will be very difficult for you to process it with your own hands. It will be easier to order such furniture for the room. As we see, the best option remains chipboard and marine plywood. Let's see how to build a do-it-yourself washbasin cabinet from this material.

Making a cabinet in 7 steps

So, let's design a vanity cabinet with glass shelves for your bathroom. For this you will need:

Chipboard with a thickness of at least 15 mm (plywood can be used);

 • furniture corners;
 • door hinges;
 • accessories for doors;
 • wood screws;
 • screws for furniture;
 • plastic "plugs" for self-tapping screws;
 • primer, putty;
 • paint and varnish for wood (or furniture);
 • glass for shelves with a thickness of 6 mm;
 • Double-sided tape;
 • sandpaper.

The first thing to do is measure the cabinets for the room. Measure the size of the washbasin and make a drawing of all the details of the product to the nearest millimeter. Now you can start marking - this can be done with an ordinary pencil. On the prepared chipboard sheet, you need to mark the recess for the siphon. Next, we move on to preparing all the details with our own hands.

 1. Cut out three components - two walls and the bottom of the future cabinet.
 2. Assemble the parts by connecting them with self-tapping screws. Make sure that the heads do not protrude from the chipboard, as then you will putty them.
 3. Do not rush to immediately collect all the furniture and hang the doors. The first thing to do is to combine the three walls with your own hands, and only then install the remaining elements, each time carefully checking the new part.
 4. You have assembled the structure and now you can put it in its place. Check if it stands firmly, does not wobble, and whether it looks even in relation to the wall. Since you will be installing a siphon, you will not be able to attach the back wall. Here you will need corners for furniture - as a rule, two pieces are enough, which must be fixed with screws under the tabletop.
 5. You can start puttingtying the structure. Considering that you are using chipboard, you need to putty the future bathroom furniture completely, achieving perfect smoothness.
 6. Those areas that were not puttied should be sanded with sandpaper. You need to remove the glossy layer so that the primer and paint fit well on the product.
 7. The last step is painting. You can apply paint on furniture with your own hands using a brush or spray gun. Large puttied areas are best primed, and only then painted. When the paint is completely dry, you can hang the doors, fixing them with hinges, and put ready product in its place in the bathroom.

Varnish can be used instead of paint. If you apply it with a brush, you will get a stylish result - the furniture will look like it is made of natural wood.

We put the shelves in the cabinet

You have already designed the cabinet under the sink with your own hands and you still have glass. You can cut the glass in advance by contacting the workshop, or you can prepare the glass yourself. To do this, you need to make the necessary measurements and markings, and then cut the material with a glass cutter. You will also need a grinding wheel so that you can round the edges. When the details of the shelves are ready, proceed with the installation:

 • first you need to make the glass frosted - ordinary wet sand will help you with this. Lay it on the surface and rub it with another piece of glass. If necessary, add wet sand. You need to rub the shelf until the entire area of the glass looks matte, and there are no visible scratches from the sand;
 • the glass is ready, you can attach the shelf to the cabinet using special fasteners. The top glass will act as a tabletop - they can simply be fixed with double-sided tape.

Actually, the bathroom furniture is ready. If you have pieces of chipboard left or you need to make a few more hanging shelves with your own hands, this is not difficult. Prepare the details of the shelves by marking and cutting them. Next, you need to prepare a place for hinged shelves:

 • mark a place for the screws and you can drill holes. The latter should be slightly smaller in width than self-tapping screws;
 • since you will have hinged shelves, screw dowels or self-tapping screws into the wall;
 • now screw the metal hangers to the shelf;
 • you can hang the shelves on the prepared place on the wall.

This is how you can make a compact hanging shelf with your own hands. Instead of chipboard, you can use glass or plastic. If you use plastic, remember that you should not put two dozen jars on it, because it can break under the weight of their weight.

In contact with

The bathroom is not like other rooms in your apartment. Here water constantly flows, steam rises, the air temperature changes. Objects in the bathroom are subject to aggressive influence environment, therefore, they must have increased resistance to wear, and especially to moisture. For example, if we talk about walls, then the most ideal material for a bathroom is, of course, ceramic tiles.

Filling the bathroom can be divided into three groups:

 • Plumbing equipment.
 • Bathroom accessories.
Bathroom plumbing will be discussed in separate articles, now let's talk about bathroom furniture.

It is difficult to imagine a bathroom without furniture. Banks with detergents, chemicals, soap, etc. you have to put it somewhere.Bathroom furniture setcan include not only a cabinet for washing, but also all kinds of cabinets and shelves. What are they made of so that they do not swell from moisture and serve for a long time ...?

Production of bathroom furniture not much different from the production of ordinary furniture. The difference is in the materials used. Bathroom furniture can be made from:

 • Plastic;
 • metal;
 • glass;
 • artificial stone;
 • Painted MDF.

All these materials resist steam and moisture well, and provide, in addition to long and reliable service, also an attractive aesthetic appearance.

The most popular material used in the manufacture of bathroom furniture is painted MDF. When painting, there is no question of protecting the ends - the part is painted from all sides, ensuring the impermeability of moisture into the material. MDF is a practical and inexpensive material. It is easily machined with ordinary furniture making tools, resistant to mechanical damage, and damages that occur - such as scratches - are easily repaired. Caring for MDF furniture is simple - the material has a glossy or matte finish - but a smooth surface and is easy to clean. There are always standard elements of bathroom furniture on sale, usually white, but if you make furniture to order, then you have the opportunity to make it in any color scheme.

From MDF they make the furniture body, shelves and facades. If money allows, you can order more expensive furniture, such as plastic. Modern HPL plastics have high strength, wear resistance and attractive appearance. But thick plastic has a too unattractive price, so furniture made of this material is not common.

For countertops, shelves, some bent decorative elements can be used fake diamond such as Corian. The stone looks good, and resists moisture and mechanical damage. The palette of colors and decors has dozens, if not hundreds of varieties. You can also use cheaper polymer concrete, but there are an order of magnitude fewer colors. Another advantage is that Corian is made in the form of a thin layer 10 mm thick, glued onto chipboard or MDF, which makes it lighter and easier to install.

Artificial stone greatly expands the possibilities of bathroom design. For example, the countertop and sink can be made as one unit.

Glass shelves will look good in the bathroom - they do not visually reduce an already small room, but add lightness. If you use glass in the bathroom, please note that all fasteners must be metal. Bonded glass elements that use UV glass adhesive are undesirable as this adhesive is not water resistant. Adhesive joints on silicone do not have a very neat appearance. It is desirable that the glass be reinforced with a transparent film - triplex, or at least covered with a transparent oracal. This will protect against injury from fragments if the glass is accidentally broken. Best Option- strained glass.

You can also use glass in the doors of hanging cabinets. It is advisable to make, or buy, cabinets with doors in which glass is inserted into aluminum frame. Such a facade is more durable due to its metal protection. Doors made of glass itself often break at the edges, and crack at the hinge attachment points.

You can also make countertops and washstands from glass, or even a whole product if you use a metal, as a rule, an aluminum profile as a frame.

In general, of all materials, glass is the least affected by aggressive environments, but the most susceptible to mechanical damage such as impacts. You can protect yourself from glass breakage by tempering it.

It is advisable to use metal in the bathroom, first of all, for the legs. In general, all bathroom furniture should be either hanging or on legs. The legs will protect the furniture from water, which is constantly collected on the floor, and also make it easier to clean the bathroom.

Another use of metal as a frame for furniture. This can be an aluminum system, which was mentioned above, or a nickel-plated frame ... The main thing is that the metal is reliably protected - by anodizing or powder coating. Ordinary paint will peel off metal after a few years, like paint on a washing machine.

If your bathroom furniture has drawers, then it is better to let them be metal too, for example, using the Metabox system. In general, some models of bathroom furniture were once made entirely of metal, but it looked like a locker in a gym dressing room.

Naturally, handles, hinges and other fittings also remain metal.

When choosing a bathroom furniture set, you should proceed from three points:

 • Reliability;
 • Functionality;
 • Aesthetic appearance.

Functionality alone is not enough for a modern person - he also needs comfort. Therefore, you need to find a reasonable combination of these qualities.

Since the bathroom is small in size, one should strive not only for the functionality of the furniture, but for its versatility. For example, a bathroom mirror can also be a flat cabinet for storing bottles. The depth of such a box is 50 mm + doors 20 mm, together - 70 mm. The doors are made of MDF, a mirror is glued to the front side, without gaps. Handles are not installed, but the size of the door is 20 mm higher than the size of the box. To open the door, take the protruding lower part. From the front, you can’t even see that this is not just a mirror, but a box.

When planning bathroom furniture, pay attention to the corners and niches of the room itself - they can and should be used. Such places can be on the toilet, in a niche for communications, on and under the washing machine.

You can, for example, install a washing machine on a small podium, 300-400 mm high. Thanks to this, we get two benefits: the loading window of the washer will rise and a more convenient height for loading laundry, and we mount it in a place under the podium drawer, for example, for chemistry. The podium should be welded from a steel square pipe 30x30 mm, and then sheathed with MDF.

Bathroom lighting also plays a big role. We must see what we are doing when we take a bath or shave with a razor. Therefore, it is better not to put lamps with shades - let it be cold white. Lamps must be in protective shades.

A mirror light is also required. If the bathroom does not have a fixed wall bracket, then when purchasing a bathroom mirror, you should pay attention to the presence of lighting in it. The lamps on the mirror should not shine in your eyes, as well as on the mirror itself. The light should spread along the mirror, it is better if it is scattered by the ceiling.

Well, perhaps, this time, that's all. In conclusion, we can add the following: a lot of different furniture is sold in our time in shops and markets, which can be easily furnished with a bathroom, but if you want comfort, practicality and reliability, then it’s better to turn to specialists who make custom-made bathroom furniture - right away get both interior design and high-quality furniture just for your bathroom.
